Cynthia ''Cindy'' Barlowe Edwards, 65, of Roanoke Rapids, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Cindy was a native of Halifax County, the daughter of LeRoy G. Barlowe and the late Annie Wilson Barlowe. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Barlowe Little.

Cindy was a 1965 graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School. She was a very dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she had served as Sunday school teacher, and avid nursery worker.

She is survived by her husband, Sidney E. Edwards; her son, Brent Randell Edwards and his wife, Sheryl, of Roanoke Rapids; her grandson, Zachary ''Zac'' Edwards; her granddaughter, Jessica Simmons and her husband, Blake; her father, LeRoy G. Barlowe and stepmother, Drusella, of Roanoke Rapids; her brother-in-law, Bill Little; and two nephews, David Little, of Roanoke Rapids and Brian Short of Henderson.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 27, from 7 to 9:30 pm. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 28, at 2:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.
